Chinese medicine talks about crab eating discomfort

Crab is delicious and has certain medicinal value, but some people will experience abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting after eating crab.

They believe that the main reason is that they do not pay attention to food hygiene or violate the traditional diet taboos, so eating crabs should not replace the following “seven inappropriate”.

  Not suitable for eating raw crabs: Crabs usually feed on the carcasses or humus of aquatic animals, and often carry cysts and vibrio parahaemolyticus of lung fluke. If not subjected to high temperature disinfection, lung fluke may cause lung damage after entering the body;Vibrio spp. Can cause infectious poisoning if it is invaded into the human body in large quantities, manifesting as initial metabolism, edema, and congestion.

Therefore, edible crabs need to be steamed and cooked thoroughly. Generally, they need to be heated for more than 30 minutes before they can be used for disinfection.

  Do not eat long-cooked cooked crabs: stored cooked crabs are easily contaminated by bacterial invasion, so crabs should be cooked and eaten now, not stored

In case you can’t finish eating, the rest must be kept in a clean, cool and ventilated place, preferably in a refrigerator, and must be steamed in the pot when eating.

  It is not advisable to “take all” without choice: when eating crabs, pay attention to “four eliminations”.

  One is to clear the crab stomach.

Crab stomach is commonly known as “crab urine bag”. In the center of the front edge of its dorsal shell, there is a triangle-shaped bone packet with sludge.   Should not eat too much: crab meat is cold, should not eat more, those with spleen and stomach deficiency should pay special attention to avoid abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Abdominal pain and diarrhea caused by crab eating can be decoction with 15 grams of warm traditional Chinese medicine perilla and 5-6 slices of ginger.

  Should not be eaten while drinking tea: Avoid drinking tea when eating crabs and within 1 hour after eating crabs.

Because boiling water will dilute the stomach acid, tea will also cause some crabs to solidify, which is not conducive to digestion and absorption, and may cause abdominal pain and diarrhea.

  Should not be eaten with persimmons: Do not “crab” crabs with persimmons.

Because the sulfuric acid and other components in persimmon degrade the protein in the crab meat and solidify, it stays in the interconnection continuously, and it will ferment and rot, causing reactions such as discarding vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

  Should not be eaten in disease: crabs are cold and contain a large amount of protein and plasma. People with certain diseases should fast or eat less.
